Big opportunity

This week presents a golden opportunity for Texas to make a move in the polls. Front running USC takes a potentially dangerous visit to South Bend to meet Charlie Weis's resurgent Irish, while Marcus Vick and the Virginia Tech hokies visit an improving Maryland squad. While both USC and Virginia Tech should win these games, I don't see either team having a breakaway blowout win. Should USC stumble once again, with the entire nation watching, and Texas obliterate Colorado, you could start to hear more talk like this.

For Texas, the important thing, as always, is to focus on those tasks at hand which they have under their control. After all, it's Texas that may have the most to lose if they play flat against any of their weak Big 12 opponents. Close wins could cost the Horns dearly this year.
