The #1 ranked Longhorns spanked the visiting #5 ranked Rice Owls 7-0 on Wednesday in front of nearly 7,000 fans at the Disch. Texas pitchers combined for a three hit shutout, while the offense rallied for three runs in the 6th inning and four runs in the 8th. The win improves Texas' record to 17-1, the only loss being to #7 Arizona in the middle game of a three game series. Next up for the Horns is a three game weekend series against Purdue, beginning on Friday.
